"Hidden Children: Daily Life." Hidden Children: Daily Life. N.p., n.d. Web. 14 Jan. 2013.
The Nazi rule forced some of these helpless children to mature beyond their years. One child, who survived, called the children of the Holocaust, "Old people with children's faces, without a trace of joy, happiness, or childish innocence." The children in hiding often improvised games and took advantage of what little education they could get. The daily experiences of the hidden children mostly varied, depending on whether or not they could live openly and maybe attend school. For some of the hidden children that could not journey outside, their life in hiding was mostly filled with pain, tormet, and boredom. They sometimes read, played, and got creative to try to take their minds off of it. Even in the ghettos and concentration camps, Jewish children looked for ways to play games. Some children taught themselves by reading and writing.
The Jewish hidden children worked in factories and black markets. The Nazis limited the amount of pocessions the children could have and the only thing they really had was the clothes on their backs.

It is really sad how they were robbed of their childhood and innocence. It would suck to be trapped inside all the time.
ReplyDeleteHow could anyone take a child and make them lose everything. They are so young and they have nothing to do with war or anything. These people that looked at these kids as they dies or forced them into their daths had to be heartless people.
ReplyDeleteIt's so depressing to hear about the childrens lives during the Holocaust. They didn't get experience childhood at all, they couldn't even attend school like the average child.
ReplyDeleteThese kids were extremely lucky, a lot of Holocaust children did not make it out alive. The idea of keeping kids under the conditions they were in is disgusting.
ReplyDeleteThats sad how Hitler took the kids childhood away from them.
ReplyDeleteI honestly cannot seem to grasp why Hitler would do this to innocent children. I feel so bad for them. And education should have been offered no matter the circumstance.

ReplyDeleteSometimes just thinking about the children from the Holocaust gives me mixed emotions. I feel sadness and so depressed at the innocent lives taken away from the children and on the other hand I fell angered at the mastermind behind this disturbing and inhumane lifestyle.
